How to Live a Balanced and Healthy Life
Living a balanced and healthy life is not as difficult as you might think.
Every moment of every day, we have can chose to live a healthy life and create for ourselves new beginnings and new challenges.
Every moment we can work towards reaching our full potential.
Every moment it is just one small and easy decision. And many moments give many decisions that lead into the right direction.
It's easy to get overwhelmed by negative thoughts, people, and circumstances, but we can take steps to live a balanced and healthy life.
Vital health and peace of mind go hand in hand - you can't be physically fit without being mentally fit as well.
A balanced and healthy lifestyle includes physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health.
Don't worry, to take your first steps towards a balanced life are easier than you might think.
Here are 10 easy tips to keep yourself in balance:
1. Exercise
Well, yes. Sorry to tell you, but exercise IS important for a healthy life. Please, start with a tiny fitness routine and you will see how good it feels after a while.
Do some strength training, aerobic conditioning, and flexibility.
And then enjoy how much better it feels, when you can carry that grocery bags without gasping for breath...
...or opening that heavy door at your office with ease...
An energized body helps give you a positive outlook on life, plus you look great, feel great, and reduce your risk of disease.
Exercise will make your life easier. I promise!
2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.
You don't like water? Drink herbal teas (without sugar!).
Water helps transport vital nutrients, regulates body temperature, eases digestion, keeps joints supple, cleans out your body, keeps skin healthy and young.
Not drinking enough water can have serious implications on you well being.
A nice side effect is that drinking water during the day will make you feel less hungry. So you'll eat less and keep your weight!
Make it a habit to put two bottles of mineral water at your desk in the office or at home and don't leave before drinking every drop of it.
By the way, I like to say: "I have to leave the office now, because my water is empty!" :-)
3. Life is perfect, even if you don't think it is.
God deals you a hand every day.
What you get is what you get. Your job is to do the best you can with the hand you're dealt.

4. Feel the fear but push it away
Helen Keller once said, "Life is either a series of adventures, or it is nothing."
Yup. If you live the same old life everyday, it's like not having a life at all.
We all tend to hide away in a shield called "comfort zone".
Being inside your comfort zone makes you feel comfortable, but it also deprives you of so many aspects of your life. Of new experiences, new people, new challenges, new knowledege...
...moving out of your comfort zone, you might feel uncomfortable at the beginning, but it is the only way to grow.
To have a more fulfilled and healthy life with high energy, more self esteem.
5. Be a daily visionary.
Visualize your goals and your dreams - every day. Visualize yourself living a balanced and healthy life - every day.
Take a five-minute break from your computer, stop off on the side of the road in between sales meetings, and create a motion picture on the screen of your mind of your goals, your dreams, of how you'd like your healthy life to be.
Visualize yourself already in possession of your wishes.
Don't come up with excuses like "I don't have the time to do this."
You don't have 5 minutes a day, come on, you know it's just an excuse...
Invest these five minutes a day in yourself, in your future, in the healthy life you want to have.
It works. Your mind is so powerful, it's unbelievable.
Have you ever thought about the really successfull athletes?
What do they do? Apart from lots of practice, they envision their goals, they go through their races mentally times and times.
You can see this very well with skiing stars, they even move the body according to the curves they are envisioning when preparing for their downhill races.
6. Feed your body well.
Your diet can help you to lead a healthy life.
Some 300,000 deaths per year are a result of poor lifestyle choices, and nutrition habits is one of those poor choices.
You're in the wonderful situation to be able to afford good nutrition. You don't have to live on 2 tablespoons of rice like some people from third world countries have to.
They don't have the choice to eat healthy, but you do!
1) Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day,
2) Eat at least 4 balanced meals a day,
3) Eat a variety of fruits and veggies - in different colors. These colors will give you a greater spectrum of valuable disease-fighting nutrients.
7. Live in the present.
Yesterday's gone. Tomorrow never comes.
Live and enjoy every moment. Don't keep thinking of the "better" times in the past. Don't long for things in the far future.
Try to appraise what you have and what you are.
8. Live with integrity.
You talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?
Being in integrity means you really are who you appear to be. How you live your life is reflected in your commitments, your values, your beliefs, your sense of right and wrong.
When you live in harmony with what you believe in, you have peace and happiness flowing into your life.
9. Develop high self-esteem.
You already know how you benefit from a high self-esteem. People who you care about benefit, too. Let go of your emotional baggage, treat yourself with respect. Your attitude - how you think, feel, and act - mirrors how you feel about yourself.
10. Live respectfully.
You are NOT at the mercy of your circumstances. George Bernard Shaw said, "The winners in life look for the ideal circumstances, and if they cannot find them, THEY MAKE THEM."
Are YOU letting your present results and circumstances control YOU? Are YOU making things happen?
