What is the Blood Type Diet?
The blood type diet determines which foods you should be eating according to your blood type.
Eat foods that go with your blood type and you will not only lose weight, but also reduce the risk of cancer,
heart disease, diabetes, infections, and liver disease.
According to the blood type diet, your blood type comes from your ancestors. Depending whether they were farmers (A),
nomads (B), hunters (O) or mixed ancestors (AB), your body has different abilities to digest certain foods.
- Type A persons should eat vegetarian and avoid meat and dairy products.
- Type B enables you to eat red meat and fish,
- Type O is prone to eat lots of animal protein and little carbohydrates.
- Type AB is probably the most versatile, because it is a mixture of A and B and therfore allows you to eat a
combination of Types A and B.
Does it Really Work?
The blood type diet is not supported by any scientific literature and has not been confirmed anywhere else.
Common sense and studying biology books will dismiss the idea that your blood type specifies dietary requirements. There is absolutely no scientific studies done to support this premise.
The blood type diet still might work, due to the fact, that you eat only certain foods in regards to your blood type. It makes you more conscious about what you eat and therefore you'll probably eat less overall.
Furthermore, none of the blood types is said to need chocolate, cookies, junk food, soda, etc. This by itself will help you to loose weight.
Healthy or Not?
Following the blood type diet strictly might even be dangerous for your health if you have severe weight problems: some blood types are told that they should not eat lean meats, or only vegetables, or can't eat certain vegetables, etc.
If you really need to lose some weight, see your doctor, get to a gym, eat smarter, don't check your blood type.
Why is the blood type diet not healthy?
First, food and digestion has nothing to do with your blood type.
Second, this diet is so restrictive that you might as well starve yourself. This will give you better results.
Third, diets don't work unless you are on them for the rest of your life!
Instead, change the way you think about food. It'll be forever and you won't have to go on a diet ever again.
