1. Ramblings
1. Ramblings December is approaching fast and with it Christmas time. For me this is a very special time of the year, it brings up nice memories from my childhood. But it’s also a difficult time to keep your weight because of all the goodies, cookies, cakes, etc. I don’t want you to life miserably during Christmas time and not eat anything of all the good stuff. So here’s one tip: try to eat more fruit made goodies. They are as delicious as the chocolate ones, but have less than half of the calories. Enjoy!
2. Maximize Your Metabolism
MORE THAN 100,000 PEOPLE THIS YEAR WILL FAIL AT THE DIET THEY ARE CURRENTLY FOLLOWING BECAUSE THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO LEARN!
If you are like most people, you've tried dieting before. This newsletter is NOT about dieting, but instead about making long-term changes in the foods you choose and eat, WITHOUT sacrificing good taste.
Let's take a look at protein. Did you know the large majority of your body is protein? That's right. If all the water were removed from your body, 80% of what remained would be comprised of protein. Your hair and nails have protein in them, as do your brain, bones, heart, kidneys, even your skin. You must derive the adequate amount of protein from your diet or you will suffer from lowered energy, weakened immune response, high cholesterol, hair loss at an early age, hormonal imbalances, liver toxicity, premature aging…The list goes on and on.
When there is not enough protein in your diet, your body actually uses protein from its own tissues, breaking down your hard-earned muscles, organs, ligaments, tendons, etc. This is catastrophic to anyone working hard to get more fit because muscle is needed to burn calories, make us strong, shapely and energetic. When you lose muscle, you loose the ability to burn calories, and dramatically slow down your metabolism, wrecking even the best diet efforts!
Now, what about fats? Contrary to belief, fats are not the enemy of dieters. In fact, although fat has twice as many calories as other some other food types, fat does not stimulate significant production of insulin, which is the body's fat-making hormone, which is a major benefit when used in conjunction with a proper diet like that described in the book Maximize Your Metabolism. Click here to see more about this incredible book.
Your body needs some fat. Eating fat-free foods is not the answer. Most fat-free food is laiden with sugar or harmful chemicals.
Furthermore, unsaturated fats are essential for human survival. Fat helps the nervous system function. Fat holds the organs of the body in correct places. Fat insulates the body. Fat is performs a wide array of vital body functions. There are many different sources of fat in the diet, making it nearly impossible to avoid fat, as at least a small amount is in nearly all foods. Foods such as oil, nuts, full fat cheeses, avocados, olives, certain cuts of meats, are considered high in fat. Foods such as fruits, vegetables, most grains, potatoes, and others are very low in fat.
There are different types of fats, too. There are good fats and bad fats. Good fats, or unsaturated fats, are beneficial to the body in a number of ways, and should be implemented into your daily diet (but don't go crazy here - I'm talking about only 2 - 3 tablespoons per day). These good fats are found in such foods as olives, avocados, extra-virgin olive oil, safflower oil, flax oil, nuts, etc. Bad fats, or saturated fats, are the kinds of fats that clog the arteries, make cholesterol levels rise, and raise blood pressure. Bad fats are found in meats, cheeses, butter, lard, and cream. Stay away from ALL saturated fats!
Now, for carbohydrates. Carbohydrate balance is critical to achieving weight loss. Carbohydrates should never be called carbohydrates. They are, in fact, SUGAR! No matter how complex, carbohydrates are broken down to their lowest common denominator, which is glucose. Glucose is sugar.
Regardless, carbohydrates are your body's primary fuel source. Your brain requires carbohydrates every second of its life. Carbohydrates, in the form of blood sugar, are pumping through your veins every minute of the day. And while they are essential to your survival, they can be your worst enemy.
Carbohydrates in the diet can be found in many places, including fruit, flour, bread, yams, potatoes, rice, pasta, oatmeal, beans, etc. There are different types of carbohydrates, including simple, medium and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates are very easy for the body to break down and absorb, because their chemical structure is simple. But that does not make them good for you - in fact the simple carbohydrates are the worst kind to eat. Medium-chain carbohydrates are slightly more detailed in their structure, and will take longer for the body to digest and absorb, leading to a longer-lasting release of energy. Complex carbohydrates take the longest to break down and to be utilized by the body, resulting in a longer-lasting release of energy.
Carbohydrates second only to fat in being the most fattening of all the food types because they have the highest potential to cause imbalances in the body's sugar levels and the body's hormones, stopping fat loss cold in it's tracts! This is why regulation of carbohydrates, and eating the right carbohydrates, is essential to getting healthy, and to losing any unwanted body fat.
Picking protein, fats and carbohydrates for weight-loss. In short, to see the quickest, most dramatic fat-loss results, you will need to add more protein to your diet, eat a few tablespoons of the right fats, and eliminate all of the wrong fats, as well as all white-flour carbohydrates and sugars from your diet. While this sounds like a challenge, you will quickly find it is not. And, by making these easy, highly-beneficial changes, you will see dramatic results quickly, looking and feeling better within the first week.

Not only do most of us have a tendency to underestimate the power of our brain, but we are also inclined to forget that our brain, like a lush garden needs to be cultivated with care, and be carefully nourished. In fact, not only do most of us forget the importance of 'cultivating' our brain but we also inadvertently destroy a little of it every day...
The longer term implications of this daily destruction are serious and far reaching!
How, do we damage our brains?
We do this in a number of ways... some voluntary, some involuntary! If we live in a city we are continually exposing our brains to toxins from the environment. The chemicals that we are exposed to are mind boggling, ranging from those that are airborne in the streets mixed with exhaust fumes to those indoors from gases released by carpets, furniture, household cleaners and even hairsprays.
These toxins are inhaled and parts of them eventually get into our blood stream and ultimately into our brain cells.
Then of course there are the toxins which we ingest voluntarily but don't think much about. Of these, alcohol is the most obvious one when it comes to damaging brain cells but there are many others as bad or worse. I'm not advocating that you stop having an occasional drink if you enjoy it... I sacrifice a few of my brain cells this way from time to time!
But... I keep it to moderation and try to limit the other substances that should not be in my body and thus may affect my brain, such as processed foods, sugars, and hydrogenated oils and transfats.
The condition of your brain has a profound impact on your body...
Think about this for a moment! If you are feeling depressed, or have a headache, your body suffers. It's likely that instead of going for a walk or doing some other exercise you are more likely to reach for something to eat and flop down on the couch and do nothing. This in turn leads to weight gain which starts a vicious cycle.
On the other hand, if your sense of wellbeing is good and your head is clear, and your mind sharp, everything you do is enhanced, ranging from sex to simply going for a walk. Can you remember when you last had a sense of wellbeing that was so elevated that you felt like you were walking on air? What about being able to cope with any problem that was thrown at you without getting stressed?
If you are like most people chances are you can't remember being like this for a long time.
The Century of Brain Disease?
Some scientists believe that the 21st Century will be a period in which brain disease will become rampant due to the reasons I mentioned below. Consider the following brain related conditions that are becoming more and more common:
* Memory loss Will there be a wonder drug to fix these problems when they occur? There isn't yet... and there is unlikely to be one that will do anything other than mask the symptoms temporarily.
What is sad is that over recent years scientists have made amazing progress in understanding the workings of the human brain. The general conclusion is that the cause of brain related conditions as mentioned above is due to chemical imbalances in the brain. These chemical imbalances can be caused simply by a deficiency of specific brain nutrients.
Scientists have found if these nutrients are administered orally that certain brain conditions can not only be relieved but in some cases go away altogether. Over recent years it has been found that some nutrients will target certain parts of the brain more effectively than others. They have also found that as with all therapeutic interventions that a nutrient that works well on one person may not work so well on another.
This same principle applies to pharmaceutical drugs which is why when a physician prescribes an anti-depressant they often have to 'trial and error' a number of different drugs until they find one that will actually suppress the undesirable symptoms that the patient is experiencing. Note: I said SUPPRESS not cure the problem. Often during the course of these 'experiments' the patient will experience side effects ranging from suicidal tendencies to male impotence.
A Potential Solution without drugs?
After two years of intensive research Prof. Dr A. Munem who directs our R & D department successfully developed what is truly the world's most effective, safest and most economic 'brain tonic'. For the first time ever, it is possible to now not only take positive steps to protect your brain against degenerative disease and at the same time feel a heightened sense of well being which I mentioned earlier... but even possibly obtain some relief from the conditions mentioned earlier in this newsletter.
I am not claiming that our new Neurological product will perform 'miracles' but what I can categorically state is that the formula is 'state of the art' and the best known to science at this time. It is also designed to compliment our other products such as Total Balance and avoid excesses of specific nutrients.
The ingredients used in the formula are supported by hundreds of clinical studies. We have listed a selection of them on our website. In summary... if you want to look after the most important organ in your body I would strongly suggest that you add this new Xtend-Life Neurological formula to your supplement regime. Today is the official release of this product, although my family and I as well as all the Xtend-Life staff have been 'trialing' it since we completed the first production run almost 2 months ago. We are all noticing the difference, with increased energy, clearer thinking and even the elimination of monthly headaches that were experienced by two female members. If you have elderly parents who are beginning to show signs of memory loss this could be of incredible benefit to them. Check out the details by below: If you decide to try it, do so for three months. Although some people feel the benefits in days or a week or so, you really need to take it for three months to give the nutrients a chance to work through the brain and nourish the synapses that make your brain 'tick'.
If you try it please let me know how you get on. I'm excited about it as I know a lot of people are really going to benefit from this. We have done our utmost to keep it affordable. It's not cheap but nothing comes anywhere near it for efficacy or value for money.
