1. Ramblings

The problem with sp am has become overwhelming. And the ISPs have answered with filters, filters that are not always correct. Brightmail, f.e. which is the filter service for hotmail, msn, and others openly acknowledges the problem of so-called “false-positives”, which means, innocent non-spa mming businesses, that get caught like a dolphin in a tuna net.

Even you could get caught, f.e. if someone forges your email address. If you have a small business (like me) then the delivery of your emails to your customers it vital for you. You don’t want to be a collateral damage. Your customers have a right to receive your emails, because they requested and confirmed it.

All my readers have to confirm their subscription (which is called double opt-in) and still, some of you will not receive my newsletter regularly, because of the filters.

But a small business company has started to fight back, and put the problem back to where it came from: to the ISPs. If you whitelist a domain, your ISP HAS to deliver the email. It’s their duty.

If either your incoming or outgoing emails are filtered against your will (and you’re an honest sender, which I assume, because otherwise you wouldn’t bother to read this), please join the campaign "Deliver My Mail!" and give a voice to small people like you and me against the big ones like Hotmail (Microsoft), AOL, etc…

Deliver My Mail!

2. What to Eat in the Evening

You probably know that the kind of food you eat right before sleeping can have a big impact on your weight. Some food will make you put on weight over night (and make you sleep badly), whereas other foods can actually make you lose weight during the night.

You probably know that eating a lot late at night is bad for two reasons: Too much carbohydrates increase your body fat stores and the high-glycemic carbs (pasta, sugar, potatoes, white rice, etc) sugar, etc.) spike your insulin levels and blunt nighttime Human Growth Hormone (HGH) production. Which is needed for burning fat and building muscles.

In order not to get cravings just before sleeping, follow these tips:

1. Eat 3-5 small, healthy meals and snacks during the day.

2. Eat your last meal at least 3 hours before going to bed

3. Your last meal should consist mainly of a lean protein and low-calorie, fibrous carbohydrates like vegetables and fruits.

4. Avoid all high-glycemic carbs like breads, pastas, rice, potatoes, etc.

5. Always have some “bed snacks” like apples, berries, peaches, plums, bran cereal, vegetables, juice (without sugar), etc. handy. This will save you from worse.

4. Joy in the effort

If life required no effort, then it would offer no satisfaction. Those who avoid effort also avoid accomplishment. If there was no need for commitment, there wouldn't be the experience of fulfillment. If there was no price to pay, there would be nothing to buy.

The ability to make a difference is one of life's greatest blessings. And that ability is expressed through effort. When you seek to make a real and substantial effort, what you'll end up with is a real and valuable achievement.

Meaningful efforts can be difficult and painful. Yet their burdens are more than outweighed by the value they create. When you see just the burdens, you're only seeing half the picture. In the burden of the effort is the value of the accomplishment.

Making the effort will extract the value. Keep that in mind and let each effort, though difficult, become a joy. Make the effort, make a difference, and you'll partake in the full richness of life.
